Meet Fayla Ott
Fayla Ott crafts faith-filled historical fiction and suspenseful southern tales. With a voice that doesn’t shy away from the hard things, she brings to life characters who wrestle with the broken and the haunted — always leaving room for hope and grace to shine through.
Fayla Ott is a Southern storyteller through and through — with a strong southern accent and an even stronger cup of coffee always within reach. Nestled in the foothills of the East Tennessee mountains, she crafts tales of American history — often steeped in the grit and grace of the Deep South — stories that capture the heart and challenge the spirit.
When she’s not spinning tales that time-travel to days gone by, Fayla wears many hats: full-time college English professor, homeschooling mom, active member of her local church, and community encourager — usually with coffee in hand.
Wife, mom to four boys, and Marmee to three grandchildren, Fayla cherishes life’s simple joys: traveling with her family, exploring old museums, hiking mountain trails, making a joyful mess in the kitchen, or tending her small farm, garden, and beloved animals. On weekends, you’ll likely find her somewhere between the garden and the front porch — proving she’s as down-to-earth and layered as the characters who fill her books.
So come along — Fayla’s stories are your invitation to step into the past, where adventure, suspense, and grace are waiting on every page.
